Walk In Clinics Pensacola - Northwest Florida Community Health, Primary Care and Pharmacy at 14 W. Jordan St. in Pensacola will move on Monday, August 29, to its new patient care home at 1400 N. Palafox St.

Formerly the office of Labcorp, the sprawling 16,000-square-foot facility on N. Palafox underwent extensive renovations, including the creation of 18 exam rooms, phlebotomy and radiology departments, two large, comfortable waiting areas and a 1,000-square- foot pharmacy with car access, all of which comfortably accommodate a large volume of patients for the services offered. The new interior space is modern and bright, and the building is conveniently located on the ECAT transport line.

"We've been in this area for 30 years, so it's important to keep a footprint in the community we've always called home," said Chandra Smiley, CEO of Community Health. "The expanded space will allow us to serve more people with affordable, primary care, and easy access to a drive-thru pharmacy will be convenient for patients."

Community Health Northwest Florida, formerly Escambia Community Clinics, has been embedded in this neighborhood since its founding in 1992. In April 2014, flooding rendered ECC's main facility at 2200 N. Palafox unusable, forcing them to move both primary care and and administrative offices to a new location. Within two days of the flood, ECC's primary care was back up and running, accepting patients at the 14 W. Jordan Street Midtown Office complex, home of ECC's Walk-in Care at the time. Jordan Street remained the organization's headquarters until it became Community Health Northwest Florida in 2018 and moved to 2315 W. Jackson Street.

Community Health Northwest Florida Walk-in Care in Palafox is open to the public regardless of primary care provider or insurance. Open seven days a week, business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Northwest Florida Community Health in Palafox will be home to University of Florida internal medicine residents as well as CHNWF's primary care providers, including physicians and nurse practitioners. All providers are accepting new patients at the Palafox location, and appointments can be made by calling 850.444.9449.

Community Health Northwest Florida Pharmacy in Palafox, formerly Thrif-T Drugs, is open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

"After more than 40 years in the Midtown Professional Building on Jordan Street, we have a great opportunity to move to our new North Hill location at 1400 N. Palafox Street, allowing us to expand our pharmacy services to include a new parking lot as and to continue our local delivery service," said Chief Pharmacy Officer Dr. Darrell Miller. Intendencia St., Suite A-28, in Southtowne across from the new YMCA—is the first facility to open under Baptist's "convenient care" model. The clinic specializes in family medicine, newborn to geriatric care and acupuncture, and patients can make appointments by phone and online or just walk in.

"Patients don't have to drive all the way to Baptiste to be seen for a cold or a sprained ankle, they can be seen here, right now," said Jean Bernard "Ben" Le Gall, board certified physician assistant.

The 800-square-foot clinic has three exam rooms where patients can receive care for a wide range of chronic conditions such as minor aches, bruises, scrapes, insect bites, colds, sinus infections and earaches.

Bobby Potomski, director of primary care services, said the clinic is an extension of the Baptist Health System, meaning patients can come to the clinic for referrals to cardiologists, orthopedists and other specialists.

"With all the new businesses downtown, people can just walk around here," he said. "Or if you're coming from outside the center, we have dedicated parking spaces in Southtowne, so we've made it convenient for patients to park, get the care they need and be on their way."

The clinic is open every weekday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and is currently accepting new patients. No appointment is necessary, but those who choose can make an appointment by visiting easyschedule.com.
